Black Friday vs White Friday vs Yellow Friday in the UAE (2026 guide)
6 November 2026 · By Oasis Home Market
Same shopping weekend, different names. What each one means, when it falls in 2026 and how to get the most from it.
If you shop online in the UAE, you will see three names for what is essentially the same event: Black Friday, White Friday and Yellow Friday. Here is what they mean and how to use them.
What is the difference?
- Black Friday is the international name for the big sale that follows Thanksgiving in the US.
- White Friday is the name widely used across the Gulf, chosen by retailers to give the event a regional identity.
- Yellow Friday is the name noon uses for its own version of the sale, in its brand colour.
The offers, the dates and the sellers overlap, so think of them as one long shopping window rather than three separate sales.
When is it in 2026?
Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, and Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. In the UAE, many retailers start their sales days earlier and run them for a week or more, so the exact dates depend on each store. Check each store's own page for confirmed dates.
How to get the most from it
- Plan early. Build your list now and note today's prices.
- Start with gifts. The end-of-year season is close, and sale periods are a good time to buy for birthdays and holidays.
- Compare stores. The same item can differ in price and delivery time.
- Check the return policy before paying.
- Watch for scams. Fake shops and phishing messages increase during sale weekends.
